The Indirect Tax Team, which is part of the Finance department, is responsible for managing indirect tax matters and ensuring compliance with indirect tax laws as well as environmental reporting regulations. By joining the Indirect Tax Compliance Team, you will help us secure that IKEA Supply AG and its subsidiaries adhere to indirect tax laws and compliance obligations while providing support to various supply chain units in related matters.

Job Description

The primary purpose of this role is to prepare and submit indirect tax reports and implement working processes to ensure compliance. Achieving compliance while supporting strategic business goals will involve applying current processes and solutions to indirect tax obligations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring indirect tax compliance by preparing and submitting indirect tax returns (VAT/GST, Intrastat, and other listings), while reviewing compliance data for multiple jurisdictions.
• Supporting and participating in multi-country Indirect Tax audits and requests from local tax authorities.
• Handling other taxes related to food products as required.
• Determining VAT rates for the assigned countries.
• Assisting internal stakeholders with indirect tax topics and queries (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Financial Controlling, etc.).
• Participating in indirect tax projects and initiatives.
• Ensuring internal working processes are implemented, updated, and improved.
• Preparing reconciliations between indirect tax fillings, ERP systems, and other systems.
• Supporting the payment and refund processes.
• Proposing and initiating improvements.

Qualification

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• A relevant university degree (MSc/BSc) in economics, business administration, or law.
• At least 2 years of working experience in indirect tax compliance, with exposure to multiple jurisdictions.
• Excellent command of English, both verbal and written.
• Strong proficiency in Excel.
• Proven ability to work with various information systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• The capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• A growth mindset.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong team spirit and communication skills.
• Flexibility and a positive attitude towards change.
• Swiss citizenship, a valid work permit for Switzerland, or EU citizenship.
