Job Opportunity: 24/7 Monitoring Center Specialist
Our client operates a dedicated 24/7 Monitoring Center tasked with overseeing the organization's infrastructure, applications, and service landscape. We invite enthusiastic and reliable candidates to join our team in ensuring operational excellence.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Continuous monitoring of events and alerts across infrastructure, applications, and services.
- Verification and validation of events, including identification of false positives and duplicates.
- Classification, prioritization, and correlation of events based on predefined criteria.
- Efficient handling of incidents by applying documented solutions or workarounds for known errors.
- Intervention during exceptional system situations to maintain ongoing processes.
- Monitoring processing and failure logs to ensure system integrity.
- Execution of documented operating procedures, runbooks, and escalation guidelines.
- Escalation and notification of on-call personnel and support teams when necessary.
- Coordination and moderation of support and incident bridge calls with technical experts.
- Accurate and timely documentation of all activities, actions taken, escalations, and outcomes.
- Compliance with operational, security, and documentation requirements.
Working Model
Our operational model requires a commitment to a 24/7 shift schedule with a structured rotation:
- Shift 1: Early shift - 06:00 to 14:00
- Shift 2: Late shift - 14:00 to 22:00
- Shift 3: Night shift - 22:00 to 06:00
- Shift 1,5: Weekend day shift - 06:00 to 18:00
- Shift 1,5: Weekend night shift - 18:00 to 06:00
- Shift 4: Regeneration week (1 week off)
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess 1–3 years of experience in a 24/7 monitoring, NOC, or IT operations environment, including hands-on experience with BMC Helix ITSM and the ability to strictly adhere to documented procedures. A quick learner who is reliable and responsible is essential. Good written and spoken skills in German and English are required, along with a clean criminal record and no debt collection records.
Optional / Advantageous Qualifications
The following skills and experiences are beneficial:
- Knowledge or hands-on experience with BMC Patrol / BMC TrueSight.
- Mainframe monitoring or operations experience.
- Experience in incident coordination and bridge call leadership.
Additional Recommended Skills
To ensure high-quality service delivery, the following competencies are strongly recommended:
- Basic knowledge of ITIL practices, particularly Event, Incident, and Problem Management.
- Ability to remain calm and structured under pressure, especially during major incidents.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Experience with incident documentation, reporting, and shift handovers.
- Understanding of service priorities, SLAs, and business impact assessment.
- High attention to accuracy, completeness, and audit-ready documentation.
- Basic technical understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, applications, and databases.
- Team-oriented working style and strong handover discipline between shifts.
