Job Opportunity: Houseparent (Boys Boarding House)

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Houseparent for our Boys Boarding House. The successful candidate will start in August 2025 and will work between 60% to 100% of the time.

This position is ideal for those who thrive in an engaging environment with bright and inquisitive international students aged 12 to 19 (grades 7 to 12).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a visible role model, embodying the values of Lyceum Alpinum in all aspects of boarding house operations.
  • Provide pastoral guidance and support to boarders during duty hours.
  • Create a safe, well-ordered, warm, and friendly environment.
  • Support boarders in their academic and co-curricular activities.
  • Ensure behavior aligns with school and house rules.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and all stakeholders at the school.
  • Organize and actively participate in boarding activities during the evenings and weekends.
  • Uphold safeguarding practices at all times.

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people in a residential setting.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • High level of social competence, empathy, strong communicative skills, sense of responsibility, and teamwork.
  • EU/EFTA citizenship is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level; additional language skills are a plus.
