The Role:

The successful candidate will join Bellevue’s Global Healthcare investment team, collaborating with fund managers and investment specialists from their leading Healthcare franchise. You will work closely with a team of two portfolio managers to create value for investors.

This role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to alpha generation in their long-only equity strategies. You will identify and cover premier global investment opportunities within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, while gaining exposure to senior corporate executives, key opinion leader physicians, scientists, and other high-profile industry experts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Generate stock ideas by evaluating pharmaceutical and biotechnology company management, strategic initiatives, clinical data, market potential, and the competitive landscape.
  • Prepare, conduct, and summarize company meetings.
  • Create and update financial models, including valuation assessments.
  • Draft comprehensive research reports and propose investments to fund managers.
  • Continuously monitor research coverage, including news updates, earnings reports, conference calls, and other data sources.
  • Attend scientific/medical and investor conferences across the US, Europe, and Asia.
  • Engage with clients or prospective clients, sales personnel, and product management.

Candidate Profile:

Technical Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, either in science or finance, with a strong academic track record.
  • The CFA designation and/or PhD qualification is a plus.
  • 2-6 years of experience as a buy-side or sell-side equity analyst focusing on pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology companies.
  • Strong skills in financial accounting and analysis, along with detailed financial modeling and valuation expertise.
  • Proficient quantitative, statistical, and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential; fluency in German is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills; Bloomberg proficiency is advantageous.
