Position: Health Economist in Global Market Access – Health Economics / HTA / AI applications / R / English

Project Overview

We are seeking a Health Economist for our client, a leading pharmaceutical company based in Rotkreuz. In this role, you will be a vital member of the Access Evidence Chapter, responsible for delivering evidence to support the market access strategy for assigned products. Your expertise will help generate AI-enabled Global Value Dossiers and co-develop health economic models (such as cost-effectiveness and budget impact) using R and MS Excel.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a technical expert who bridges the gap between traditional decision-analytic modeling and modern AI-enabled evidence generation. With the ability to build complex simulations from scratch in R and Excel/VBA, they will translate those findings into strategic Global Value Dossiers for health technology assessment (HTA) bodies. A strong foundation in health economics, coupled with a history of scientific publications, will be crucial in navigating matrix environments to secure pricing and reimbursement for life-changing therapies.

Key Responsibilities

• Co-develop and adapt health economic models using AI to support evidence generation, market access, pricing, and reimbursement strategies across various disease areas, including cardiovascular, diabetes, infectious diseases, and neurology.
• Generate AI-enabled Global Value Dossiers for affiliate use, including workflows for easy local adaptation and potential external use.
• Effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences, including non-expert stakeholders and HTA bodies.
• Co-develop publication plans and deliver abstracts, publications, and external value communications related to health economics.

Must-Haves

• Master's degree (MSc or MA) in Health Economics, Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in health economics.
• A track record of scientific publications is preferred.
• Experience in developing decision-analytic models, such as Markov models or discrete-event simulations, from scratch.
• Solid understanding of health economic evaluations and HTA requirements.
• Strong computer skills, including advanced MS Excel modeling (VBA) and R.
• Familiarity with AI applications (e.g., Gemini) in health economics and outcomes research.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively in a matrix environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience in multiple therapeutic areas is a plus.
