Global Business & Operations (GBO)

Global Business & Operations (GBO) is the dedicated unit within Zurich overseeing global Travel and Cyber business operations. This includes collaboration with Zurich’s Global Operations, which encompasses Group Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Corporate Center Facilities Management, and Zurich Capability Centers (ZCC)/global shared services centers. Our primary objective within Global Operations is to reduce expenses while standardizing and enhancing the quality of our services, ultimately increasing our efficiency and benefiting from shared services.

Position Overview

We are excited to announce a newly created Head of ZCC role that will report directly to the CEO of GBO. This role is crucial for driving the transformation and management of Zurich’s global shared services centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overarching strategy for ZCCs, promoting greater enterprise adoption, standardization, location optimization, scalability, and cross-centre governance.
  • Oversee operational performance and change management for ZCC operations across multiple countries, providing leadership to ZCC Heads and their extended teams (IT, Finance, HR, Strategy, Assurance).
  • Lead transformational change by designing a future-fit shared services model strategy, incorporating additional front/middle/back-office process migration alongside AI implications.
  • Build robust relationships with business leaders, external partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Advocate for enterprise expansion and optimal service placement through strategic growth of ZCC offerings to various Zurich country Business Units.
  • Encourage collaboration and resilience among centres, dismantling silos and establishing capability redundancy.
  • Ensure consistent regulatory and compliance adherence across all centres.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven senior leadership experience in transformational global shared services, including strategy, design, set-up, and governance of complex multi-tower operations.
  • Track record of driving enterprise change, developing scalable service models, and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing large teams across various geographies.
  • Understanding of property and facility management, including technical operations, supplier management, and workplace transformation.
  • Knowledge of compliance, regulatory requirements, and risk management within a global shared service context.
  • Expertise in crafting and executing change narratives, advocating for strategic expansion, and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Future-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation, especially in AI and automation.
  • Strong financial planning and budgeting capabilities to effectively manage operational costs and budgets.
