Global Business & Operations (GBO) is the unit within Zurich responsible for overseeing the global Travel and Cyber business, as well as Zurich’s Global Operations. This includes Group Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Corporate Center Facilities Management, and Zurich Capability Centers (ZCC)/global shared services centers. Our mission within Global Operations is twofold: to reduce expenses while simultaneously standardizing and enhancing the quality of our services, ultimately driving increased efficiency for our stakeholders.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the CEO of GBO, the newly established Head of ZCC will spearhead the transformation and management of Zurich’s global shared services centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overarching strategy for ZCCs, promoting greater enterprise adoption, standardization, location optimization, scalability, and cross-centre governance.
  • Oversee operational performance and change management for ZCC operations across multiple countries, providing leadership to ZCC Heads and their extended teams, including IT, Finance, HR, Strategy, and Assurance.
  • Lead transformational change by designing a future-fit shared services model strategy, incorporating front/middle/back-office process migration and considering the impact of AI.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders, external partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Advocate for enterprise expansion and optimal service placement through the strategic growth of ZCC offerings to additional Zurich Business Units.
  • Foster collaboration and resilience among centres, breaking down silos and enhancing capability redundancy.
  • Ensure consistent regulatory and compliance adherence across all centres.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience in transformational global shared services, including strategy, design, set-up, and governance of complex multi-tower operations.
  • Proven track record of driving enterprise change, building scalable service models, and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing large teams across multiple geographies.
  • Understanding of property and facility management, including technical operations, supplier management, and workplace transformation.
  • Knowledge of compliance, regulatory requirements, and risk management in a global shared service context.
  • Strong ability to develop and communicate change narratives, advocate for strategic expansion, and influence senior stakeholders.
  • A future-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation, including AI and automation.
  • Strong financial planning and budgeting skills to effectively manage operational costs.
