Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Sporting Director, Sporting Manager, Race Strategist, or Race Director.
  • Strong knowledge of F1 Sporting Regulations is required; familiarity with F2 and F3 Sporting Regulations is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of the FIA International Sporting Code (ISC), with additional expertise in sport governance best practices being a plus.
  • Knowledge of race strategy and sporting simulation tools, including deterministic and stochastic analysis.
  • Experience with race weekend operations, particularly in F1, is a must; broader knowledge of other racing categories is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and real-time collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams); knowledge of SBG timing and analysis software is a plus.
  • Highly proficient or native English speaker, both written and spoken; additional languages are a positive.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), attention to detail, and high integrity.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in an international environment with demonstrated autonomy, adaptability, and resilience.

Job Description

This role entails significant weekend work, as the candidate is expected to attend the Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Geneva for most races during the 2026 F1 season. Additionally, periodic travel to race event locations will be required.

As the Head of the Remote Operations Centre (ROC) & Future Regulations, you will have the unique opportunity to step behind the scenes of Formula 1, Formula 2, and Formula 3. You will lead the FIA's remote operations during live race events and gain privileged insight into shaping the sporting regulations that will define the future of the sport.

In this role, you will be at the center of the action, contributing directly to safeguarding the integrity and fairness of single-seater racing at the highest level. You will report to the Single Seater Sporting Director.

Responsibilities

Remote Operations Centre (ROC)

  • Provide real-time support for FIA Formula 1, Formula 2, and Formula 3 trackside activities, including race direction and stewarding.
  • Act as the primary point of communication between trackside and remote operations for task allocation and workload management during events.
  • Develop ROC processes, procedures, systems, and infrastructure, working closely with internal stakeholders to expand support functions.
  • Organize personnel planning and logistics for the ROC facility.
  • Assist in managing supply and service contracts for the ROC facility.
  • Oversee fault reporting on ROC systems, collaborating with stakeholders and suppliers for timely resolution.
  • Liaise with other FIA sporting departments regarding the future evolution and deployment of the ROC facility for additional championships.

FIA Formula 1 Sporting Regulations

  • Develop and deploy sporting simulation tools to evaluate and evolve future regulation concepts.
  • Prepare concept proposals and amendments to the FIA Formula 1 Sporting Regulations for evaluation by relevant governance meetings, including the Sporting Advisory Committee (SAC), F1 Commission (F1C), and World Motor Sport Council (WMSC).

Tertiary Duties

  • Contribute to the design and content of annual Stewarding Seminars and training events.
  • Attend and actively participate in the annual Stewarding Seminars.
  • Support the delivery of Stewards' training activities in collaboration with FIA development targets.
