Job Description

Your Mission

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Group Head of SEO to lead our organic growth strategy across our portfolio of leading Swiss marketplaces. In this critical leadership role, you will define and drive the group-wide SEO vision, ensuring our platforms achieve and maintain top organic search rankings. Moreover, we want you to lead SMG into the new AI-first world where GEO/AEO is increasingly important.

You will be the central point of contact for all aspects of SEO, providing strategic direction and leadership to cross-functional teams. A key part of your mission will be to effectively communicate the SEO roadmap, performance metrics, and strategic plans to senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment and demonstrating clear business impact. You will foster a culture of innovation, developing cutting-edge solutions that solve user problems and drive sustainable, long-term organic traffic growth. Your responsibilities will evolve as we grow.

Qualifications

What will you bring to the ride?

  • Extensive SEO leadership experience: 8+ years of SEO experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, managing SEO for large-scale, high-traffic websites, preferably within the marketplace or classifieds sector.
  • Strategic vision: A proven track record of developing and executing a successful, long-term SEO strategy that delivers significant business results and competitive advantages.
  • Technical SEO mastery: Deep expertise in all facets of SEO, including technical SEO (crawling, indexing, rendering, ranking) and content strategy. Experience with large-scale site migrations and re-platforming is essential.
  • Data-informed decision making: A highly analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations. Proficiency with major SEO and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog).
  • Stakeholder influence: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating a clear vision and influencing stakeholders at all levels, from engineering teams to C-level executives.
  • Inspirational leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire both direct and indirect teams to achieve ambitious goals in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Business acumen: A strong understanding of business models, with the ability to connect SEO initiatives directly to revenue and business objectives.
  • Educational background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Language skills: Fluency in English.
