The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Global Quality Systems to provide strategic leadership, oversight, and ownership of the Quality Management System (QMS) within our Global Quality Management division. This role reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Global Quality and can be based in either Denmark or Switzerland, with potential travel of up to approximately 20% within Europe.

As the Head of Global Quality Systems, you will:

• Lead the strategy, governance, and continuous development of the Global Quality Management System across all sites and functions.
• Ensure sustainable compliance with global GxP requirements while promoting operational excellence, inspection readiness, and a robust quality culture.
• Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, overseeing the harmonization and evolution of Bavarian Nordic’s global quality systems (Veeva) in alignment with business growth and digital transformation initiatives.
• Take ownership of core quality processes including Deviations, CAPAs, Change Control, document management, data integrity, risk management, and management review.
• Lead a global team consisting of one Senior Manager and 10+ QA Specialists, nurturing a high-performing, collaborative, and quality-focused environment.
• Collaborate closely with global operations management and QA Site Heads to drive alignment and efficient quality processes across the organization.
• Play a central role in advancing Bavarian Nordic’s digital and ERP transformation, ensuring that quality systems facilitate data integrity, automation, and innovative operational methods.

Additional Responsibilities

• Drive the global QMS strategy and roadmap to enhance quality maturity and operational excellence.
• Ensure ongoing inspection readiness and lead engagements with regulatory authorities.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to promote quality culture, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Establish and monitor KPIs and quality metrics to support informed decision-making.
• Encourage digitalization and innovation within Quality Systems to enhance efficiency and user experience.
• Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing global team, fostering accountability and capacity building.

What You Bring

We are looking for a results-driven and visionary global quality leader with a proven track record in developing, harmonizing, and managing Quality Management Systems within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or vaccine manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in navigating complex, highly regulated international environments and successfully leading global quality transformation and compliance initiatives across multiple sites and functions.

You should be able to combine strategic thinking with operational execution, effectively driving organizational alignment, quality culture, and continuous improvement. Recognized as a collaborative and influential leader, you will partner successfully with senior stakeholders and build high-performing, sustainable global quality processes. Given our global operations, fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
