Role Purpose
The Head of Product Management will oversee all business aspects of the dedicated product portfolio. This includes developing strategies to achieve business plan goals, managing the product portfolio throughout its life cycle, driving development project management, facilitating market introductions, and initiating cost-reduction programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the overall product strategy, portfolio development, mid-to-long-term planning, budgeting, sales projections, and profit and loss results aligned with corporate and business unit targets.
- Lead the product management team and direct engineering and supply chain teams to achieve business unit goals across the value chain.
- Drive product portfolio synergies to develop differentiated, configurable platforms, reducing offering complexity.
- Ensure timely quotations to sales and implement value pricing throughout the organization to position VAT products effectively in the market based on customer value.
- Interact proactively with sales and key customers to drive business results.
- Collect market requirements and competitive intelligence as a basis for developing strategies and measures to maintain competitiveness and market growth.
- Assign, allocate, and develop the Product Management team to effectively achieve business results.
- Collaborate actively with VAT innovation groups to foster innovation, manage, and share platforms in products and technology.
- Support operations to release and optimize the supply chain for the products managed.
- Engage proactively with quality-focused initiatives striving for a zero-defect culture.
- Incorporate company standards of excellence into daily work to foster a total quality environment and demonstrate personal commitment to excellence.
- Manage commercial contracts, such as customer frame agreements and NDAs, with the support of legal counsel.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in sciences, engineering, or economics.
- Fluent business English skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong project management skills in an internationally operating company.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle customer escalations effectively.
- Experience in product management in highly differentiated industrial businesses.
- Knowledge of practical applications of product life cycle management.
Experience Required
- Strong entrepreneurship and strategic thinking.
- Solid experience in managing international projects.
- Account Management experience.
- Familiarity with the general vacuum market or experience in the vacuum industry.
