Position Overview
The Head of Product Management for Advanced Industrial applications will manage all business aspects of the dedicated product portfolio, including strategy development and execution to achieve business plan goals. This role encompasses driving the product portfolio through its life cycle, managing development projects, market introductions, continuous improvement activities, cost reduction programs, product relocations, as well as product replacements and phase-outs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute overall product strategy, portfolio development, mid-to-long term planning, budgeting, sales projections, and profit and loss results in line with corporate and Business Unit targets.
- Manage product portfolios and roadmaps, setting clear cost and time goals for core technology, engineering, supply chain, operations, and quality.
- Lead product management and direct the engineering and supply chain teams to achieve business unit goals across the value chain.
- Drive product portfolio synergies to develop differentiated, configurable platforms to simplify offerings.
- Ensure timely quotations to sales and implement value pricing practices to effectively position VAT products in the market based on customer value.
- Engage proactively with sales and key customers to drive business results.
- Collect market requirements and competitive intelligence to develop strategies and short-to-midterm measures that ensure competitiveness and market growth.
- Assign, allocate, and develop the Product Management team to achieve business results effectively.
- Collaborate with VAT innovation groups to foster innovation, manage, and share platforms in products and technology.
- Support operations to optimize the supply chain for owned products.
- Proactively engage with quality teams to promote a zero-defect culture.
- Incorporate company standards of excellence in daily work to foster a total quality environment and demonstrate personal commitment to excellence.
- Manage commercial contracts supported by legal counsel, including customer frame agreements and NDAs.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in sciences, engineering, or economics.
- Fluent in business English, both written and spoken.
- Extensive project management experience in an international setting.
- Strong communication skills, particularly in managing customer escalations.
- Significant experience in product management within highly differentiated industrial sectors.
- Expertise in the practical application of product life cycle management.
Experience Required
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proven experience in managing international projects.
- Familiarity with account management.
- Knowledge of the general vacuum market or experience within the vacuum industry.
