Zurich International School is an inclusive non-profit day school situated in the Greater Zurich area, offering comprehensive bilingual and international educational programs for local and foreign national students aged 3 to 18.
About the Role
The Head of Philanthropy is responsible for cultivating and enhancing philanthropic initiatives at ZIS. This pivotal role focuses on identifying new opportunities for program growth, fostering enduring relationships, soliciting philanthropic support, and strategically planning for the long-term sustainability of the fundraising program.
Key Responsibilities
- Fundraising Strategy & Execution: Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive moves management strategy to enhance engagement and financial support, including donor identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Annual Fund, Major Gifts & Endowment: Develop strategies to grow the Annual Fund and Major Gifts programs, while supporting Endowment fundraising initiatives.
- Stewardship & Reporting: Implement a stewardship plan, maintain detailed reports and performance indicators, and ensure compliance with professional, ethical fundraising standards.
- Community Engagement & Visibility: Maintain an active presence within the ZIS community and schedule personal meetings on- and off-site to enhance school engagement and support.
- Volunteer & Team Management: Recruit and manage key volunteers for the Annual Fund and oversee the Advancement Services Coordinator.
- Marketing, PR & Information Sharing: Plan and manage marketing and PR initiatives for the Annual Fund, implementing effective information-sharing strategies including CASE Engagement metrics.
- Corporate & Strategic Partnerships/Networks: Act as the primary contact for strategic corporate partners and maintain comprehensive relationship databases.
What You Bring to This Role
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field
- Proven track record in non-profit fundraising
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with the capacity to engage high-value donors in shared visions
- Strong project management and strategic planning capabilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and German
- Demonstrated success in leading teams within culturally diverse organizations
- Familiarity with G Suite products, CRM databases, and Raiser’s Edge
