About the Role
The Head of Philanthropy is responsible for cultivating and expanding philanthropic initiatives at ZIS. This role emphasizes identifying new opportunities for program growth, fostering long-lasting relationships, soliciting philanthropic support, and strategically planning for the long-term sustainability of the fundraising program.
Key Responsibilities
- Fundraising Strategy & Execution: Oversee the execution of a moves management strategy designed to enhance engagement and financial support, including donor identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Annual Fund, Major Gifts & Endowment: Develop strategies to increase the Annual Fund and Major Gifts Program, while supporting Endowment Fundraising.
- Stewardship & Reporting: Implement a Stewardship plan, maintain performance reports and indicators, and ensure compliance with professional and ethical fundraising standards.
- Community Engagement & Visibility: Actively engage in the ZIS community by scheduling personal meetings both on- and off-site to deepen school engagement and foster support.
- Volunteer & Team Management: Recruit and manage essential Annual Fund volunteers and oversee the Advancement Services Coordinator.
- Marketing, PR & Information Sharing: Plan and manage marketing and PR initiatives for the Annual Fund, and implement effective communication strategies, including CASE Engagement metrics.
- Corporate & Strategic Partnerships / Networks: Serve as the initial contact for strategic corporate partners and maintain relationship databases.
What You Bring to This Role
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field
- Proven track record in non-profit fundraising
- Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to engage high-value donors to cultivate shared visions
- Strong project management and strategic planning capabilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and German
- Demonstrated success in leading teams in culturally diverse organizations
- Familiarity with G Suite products, CRM databases, and Raiser’s Edge
