About the Role

The Head of IVD Products will serve as a vital link between Research & Development and Manufacturing Operations, ensuring the successful development, industrialization, transfer, and scale-up of new products and processes. This role acts as the operational lead for new product introduction, representing both the "Voice of Operations" within R&D and the "Voice of R&D" within Operations.

• Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Product & Technology Transfer team.
  • Establish clear departmental objectives, priorities, and performance metrics.
  • Manage departmental resources, budgets, equipment, and staffing to maximize operational effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Product Development & Industrialization
  • Collaborate closely with R&D teams to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability, quality, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive successful product scale-up from development through commercial manufacturing.
  • Develop robust manufacturing processes and quality control methods to support commercialization.
• Technology Transfer
  • Continuously improve technology transfer methodologies and governance.
  • Manage technology transfer projects across functions, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Manufacturing Process Excellence
  • Provide technical leadership in process design, optimization, validation, and scale-up.
  • Analyze scientific and technical evaluations to identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
• Pilot Manufacturing Facility Management
  • Lead daily operations of the pilot manufacturing facility ("Accelerator").
  • Ensure effective utilization of pilot resources while preserving commercial production capacity.
• Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all activities comply with GMP, GDP, MDR, FDA, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Implement quality systems and controls that ensure consistent process performance and product quality.
• External Collaboration & Innovation
  • Build strategic partnerships with universities, research institutes, suppliers, and external technology partners.
  • Lead external collaborations that strengthen organizational capabilities and competitive advantage.

Your Profile:

• MSc in Life Sciences, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
• Additional certifications in Project Management, Business Management, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
• 10-15 years of experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
• Fluent in English and French.
