The Head of Corporate Affairs role within the EUCAN region encompasses a diverse scope of responsibilities, including Communications, Public Affairs, Patient Advocacy, and Sustainability. How You Will Contribute

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Provide visionary leadership to the Corporate Affairs team, ensuring alignment with Takeda’s Global, GPD, and EUCAN Strategy Framework.
    • Drive efforts to shape the external environment and enhance the EU competitiveness agenda to support innovation and market readiness.
    • Foster strategic cross-functional collaboration between Global, GPD, and EUCAN teams to maximize impact.
  • Partnerships:
    • Build and maintain empowering, long-term partnerships in strategically focused therapeutic areas.
    • Enhance Takeda’s external leadership through sustainable partnerships that benefit patients, healthcare systems, and the business.
  • Corporate Reputation:
    • Position Takeda as a global thought leader in innovation, digital health, and sustainability.
    • Drive executive visibility and thought leadership to influence key stakeholders and instill confidence in Takeda’s strategic direction.

  • Public Affairs:
    • Champion Takeda’s role in shaping the EU Competitiveness and Innovation Agendas.
    • Provide strategic support to senior EUCAN leaders participating in key forums.
    • Proactively engage with EU institutions to advocate for conducive regulatory environments.
  • Patient Advocacy:
    • Drive therapeutic policy and patient advocacy programs to ensure successful product launches.
    • Build strong relationships with European patient organizations and prioritize a patient-centric approach.

Expected Skills

  • University degree; graduate degree preferred.
  • Over 15 years of pharmaceutical experience with a focus on public policy, communications, and patient advocacy.
  • Substantial leadership experience, including managing teams across multiple countries.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of navigating complex landscapes while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Collaborative mindset focused on driving impact through stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking ability to envision the organization’s future state.
  • High levels of integrity, resilience, and adaptability, upholding Takeda’s values.
  • Experience and connections in external affairs, particularly with trade associations.
  • Strong focus on technology, including the application of AI and data in strategy development.
