Job Opportunity: Head of Content Creation
Urban Games is an independent and highly successful video game development company specializing in simulation and management games. After the remarkable success of our third title, Transport Fever 2, released in late 2019, we continue to grow and expand our creative horizons. Role Overview
The Head of Content Creation will have overall responsibility for managing our art team, optimizing performance in collaboration with other leads and the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a team consisting of currently six in-house and two external 2D/3D artists.
- Define roles, outline opportunities, evaluate performance, and promote team members.
- Optimize team performance, define new profiles, and assist in hiring new members.
- Communicate essential goals to the team, act as a motivator, and lead by example.
- Encourage and incorporate feedback from team members while ensuring discipline and fairness.
- Ensure deadlines are met and that the team learns from experiences.
- Foster close collaboration with the Head of Product, Head of Development, and the CEO.
Requirements
- 3+ years of leadership experience and 5+ years as a 3D artist or in a similar role.
- Advanced proficiency in established 3D modeling software, content pipelines, and custom tools.
- Experience with 2D tools such as Substance texturing tools and Photoshop.
- Strong leadership skills with a high degree of empathy for the motivating factors of highly skilled teams.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Exceptional organizational, moderation, and social skills combined with strong assertiveness.
- A compelling portfolio showcasing released products you have contributed to.
- Proficiency in German and English communication and writing skills (B2 level or higher).
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in game development, formal art education, or an equivalent field.
- Advanced knowledge of shader languages, scripting, and programming.
- Experience in the video game industry with a track record of working on shipped products.
