Due to our continued expansion, we are seeking an exceptional Head of Competitive Sport to elevate performance sports and inter-school competition starting September 2026. This is a focused and energetic leadership role where the successful candidate will develop a structured and ambitious competitive program that reflects the standards and identity of VIS.

The Role

The Head of Competitive Sport will:

• Lead and coordinate all competitive team sports fixtures
• Enter appropriate leagues and competitions on a local and international scale
• Develop a comprehensive inter-school fixtures calendar across various age groups
• Oversee team selection, coaching standards, and match preparation
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Sport to synchronize competitive and participation pathways
• Coordinate with the Head of Academics to ensure alignment between sporting commitments and academic expectations
• Support performance monitoring and progression pathways
• Contribute to the ongoing development of our ski racing and performance sports identity
• Ensure high standards of organization, communication, and safeguarding

This role demands strong logistical skills, high energy levels, and a clear understanding of structured school sports. The ability to teach IB Sports, Exercise, and Health Science is a valuable asset.

The Candidate

• Has experience in organizing and leading competitive school sports
• Understands league entry, fixture coordination, and inter-school competition structures
• Can effectively manage teams, expectations, and performance standards
• Is confident collaborating with senior leaders to support both academic and sporting outcomes
• Communicates clearly and professionally with parents and colleagues
• Thrives in a growing and ambitious school environment
• Has international school experience (advantageous)
