The Swiss Animal Welfare Federation STS is the umbrella organization of 71 animal protection organizations from all language regions of Switzerland, as well as Liechtenstein. As the largest nationally active animal protection organization, it is dedicated to the welfare of companion, wild, farm, and laboratory animals, founded on scientifically established principles and great dedication.

Position: Head of the Animal Protection Competence Center

We are seeking a convincing personality for our location in Zurich-Altstetten for the position of Head of the Animal Protection Competence Center. In this responsible role, you will lead the competence center in terms of expertise, personnel, and organization.

As the leader of a team of about 35 employees, you will:

• Develop foundations, positions, and programs that advance animal protection.
• Integrate scientific findings, practical experience, and regulatory requirements into viable solutions.
• Manage demanding projects and actively shape structures and processes.
• Represent STS to authorities, politics, science, media, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with various specialist areas as a member of the executive management, contributing your expertise to the organization's growth.

For this versatile leadership position, you should possess the following qualifications:

• A master's degree in veterinary medicine, biology, zoology, agricultural sciences or a comparable field.
• Several years of leadership and professional experience in a demanding role.
• In-depth knowledge of Swiss animal protection and the relevant legal frameworks.
• Strong strategic and conceptual skills paired with high professional credibility, decisiveness, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels and the ability to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
• A strong identification with the goals and values of the Swiss Animal Welfare Federation STS.
