About the Company
ANAVIA specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) systems with capacities of up to 500 kilograms. The company provides industry-leading unmanned helicopter systems tailored for various mission profiles, including Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Inspection, Mapping, and Cargo.
Position: Head of Airworthiness & Safety
As the Head of Airworthiness & Safety, you will play a crucial role in securing and maintaining operational authorizations, serving as the primary point of contact for aviation authorities. You will also act as the internal resource for regulatory and flight safety queries while ensuring that all essential documentation and manuals are developed and kept up to date.
Your Main Tasks:
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to obtain relevant operational authorizations, such as the SORA process in accordance with Drone Regulation EU 2019/947.
- Initiate and coordinate operational authorization and regulatory topics with relevant National Aviation Authorities (NAAs).
- Develop and maintain manuals and processes to secure and uphold operational authorizations.
- Familiarize yourself with and assess the latest regulations and information concerning the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles. Provide information and training to internal stakeholders as necessary.
- Act as Flight Safety Manager and establish a Safety Management System.
- Establish and maintain a compliant occurrence reporting scheme in line with regulation EU 376/2014.
- Consult with management on regulation-relevant topics.
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
- Conduct internal and external audits.
- Facilitate internal training sessions on regulatory and aviation standards.
Requirements:
- Completed higher education (e.g., ETH, HTL, etc.).
- Thorough knowledge of Safety Management Systems in accordance with ICAO requirements (e.g., Doc. 9859).
- Expertise in relevant regulatory requirements and frameworks for unmanned aerial vehicles (e.g., EU 2019/947).
- Strong technical and systems engineering understanding, along with process-oriented and structured work methods.
- Solid computer skills.
