Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated individual with outstanding flexibility who can work independently on different shifts (day or night) as scheduled by management. Under pressure, you should consistently reflect a positive can-do attitude and present the best image of Viking China Outbound.
- Supervision of the Guest Services Department, including the organization, management, and motivation of all guest services staff. This includes overseeing the appearance and clothing of team members according to the latest grooming standards.
- Preparation of opening and closing ships at the start and end of the season.
- Ensure good cooperation and regular information exchange with all departments, the Hotel Manager, and the CORE Team.
- Participation in internal training courses and implementation of learned material in daily practices.
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Lead departmental "Daily Reunion" meetings.
- Input and manage guest billing information in IT systems (MXP and/or POS).
- Become knowledgeable about all itinerary-related ports of call and shore excursions.
- Production of the daily program (Viking Daily).
- Update the onboard infotainment system.
- Familiarity with all functions of computer systems, including but not limited to MXP, Anveo, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Provide general administrative support to the Hotel Manager.
- Handle and prepare customs regulations.
- Prepare cruise and monthly reports.
Qualifications
- Hospitality degree required (minimum Diploma in Hotel Management); higher academic degrees (BA, MBA) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in an upscale cruise line or a comparable international luxury hotel in the Front Office department.
- Must be able to handle confidential information discreetly and correctly.
- Maintain impeccable grooming and hygiene standards.
- Extensive walking and the ability to stand for extended periods are required.
- Work hours may vary based on organizational needs and operational demands.
- Guest-focused and service-oriented with a positive personality and professional appearance.
- Flexible, stress-resistant, a team player, committed, and able to work various shifts.
- Relevant accounting and administrative skills are essential.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in a third language relevant to the itinerary is a plus.
