Position Description
We are seeking a dedicated professional who embodies outstanding flexibility and a positive can-do attitude to represent Viking China Outbound.
- Must be able to work independently in various shifts (day or night) as scheduled by management.
- Ability to remain composed under pressure and maintain the best image of our services.
- Supervise the Guest Services Department, including organization, management, and motivation of staff, ensuring compliance with grooming standards.
- Prepare for ship openings and closings at the beginning and end of the season.
- Ensure effective cooperation and regular communication with all departments, the Hotel Manager, and the CORE Team.
- Participate in internal training sessions and apply the learned knowledge to daily operations.
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Lead the departmental “Daily Reunion” meetings.
- Manage guest check entries in the IT system (MXP and/or POS).
- Familiarize yourself with all ports of call and shore excursions related to itineraries.
- Produce the daily program (Viking Daily).
- Update onboard infotainment systems.
- Understand all functionalities of the computer systems, including but not limited to MXP, Anveo, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Provide administrative support to the Hotel Manager.
- Handle and prepare customs regulations.
- Prepare cruise and monthly reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management is required (minimum Diploma in Hotel Management), with a preference for higher degrees (BA, MBA).
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an upscale cruise line or comparable international luxury hotel in a front office role in China.
- Ability to properly and discreetly handle confidential information.
- Well-groomed with a commitment to high hygiene standards.
- Capable of extensive walking and standing for prolonged periods.
- Work hours may vary based on organizational and operational needs.
- Service-oriented with a guest-focused mindset, positive demeanor, and professional appearance.
- Flexible, resilient under stress, a team player, and committed to fulfilling various shift requirements.
- Possess relevant accounting and administration skills.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in a third language related to the itinerary is an asset.
