About the Role
Medartis is seeking a Group Manager for Global Events to spearhead our global events strategy and drive the digital transformation of our event planning, execution, and management processes worldwide. This role merges strategic leadership in events with hands-on oversight of logistics, technology, and procedures that will make our global events program scalable and data-driven. You will lead a global team of six, managing a diverse portfolio that includes trade shows, product launches, Corporate Visits, and IBRA Educational Events, all while modernizing our tracking tools for materials.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead and inspire a global events team of six, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Event Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement a global events strategy that aligns with Medartis' overall business goals and enhances its international presence.
- Plan, execute, and oversee a wide array of events, including conferences, trade shows, symposiums, product launches, Corporate Visits, and IBRA Educational Events.
- Strategically consider congress and trade show presence as integral touchpoints in the entire customer journey geared towards lead generation.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal departments—marketing, sales, product management, IBRA, and executive leadership—to ensure seamless coordination and integration of events into overall business strategies.
Digital Transformation and Logistics
- Lead the digital transformation of the global events function with a focus on logistics and operational excellence.
- Select, implement, and manage tracking tools and systems for events, workshop, and lab materials—including inventory and process automation solutions.
- Establish and oversee financial cross-charging processes for accurate and transparent cost allocation across regions and business units.
- Drive the adoption of new tools and workflows across the events team and stakeholders while applying strong change-management practices.
- Experience with hybrid/digital formats, event apps, and lead-capture technology, including their integration into CRM systems.
Budget Management
- Develop and manage the annual events budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation to maximize the impact of each event.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including event organizers, industry partners, and key opinion leaders.
Brand Representation
- Ensure that all events align with Medartis' brand guidelines and messaging, effectively showcasing the company's values and mission.
Metrics and Analytics
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and ROI of events.
- Utilize data-driven insights and dashboards to continuously improve the effectiveness of the events program.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business, Digital Innovation, or a related field.
- 6–8+ years of experience in event management, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in selecting or implementing event technologies, digital asset management (DAM) systems, or process automation tools.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using data and dashboards to inform decisions.
- Proven leadership and change-management skills.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, particularly with SaaS/tech providers.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in German or other European languages is a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally (20–40%).
- Familiarity with compliance requirements in the medical device industry.
