About Us

The mission of the IRP – International Foundation for Research in Paraplegia, established in 1995 in Geneva (rue François-Perréard 14, 1225 Chêne-Bourg), is to provide funding for basic and clinical research in the field of paraplegia both in Switzerland and internationally. IRP operates its main office in Geneva and has a branch office located in Zurich (Neugasse 10, near the main train station).

Position Available: Grants / Office Manager (40% yearly average)

We are seeking a motivated individual with proven experience and accomplishments for the role of Grants / Office Manager, starting on June 2, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with potential donors, particularly within the Swiss German market (including companies, foundations, and individuals).
  • Manage relationships with existing donors and partnerships.
  • Establish and maintain a database to keep all donor contacts and leads updated.
  • Coordinate grants and liaise with the Scientific Committee:
    • Manage yearly calls for project grants, including dispatching information to researchers and institutions.
    • Process applications upon receipt, prepare evaluation forms, and organize meetings and minutes.
    • Follow-up on projects, draft new contracts, and compile the annual list of project payment due dates.
    • Request interim, final, and financial reports.
  • Organize the Schellenberg Research Prize.
  • Prepare monthly payments in collaboration with the headquarters.
  • Oversee communication efforts, including fundraising documents, social media, and IRPneuromews.
  • Assist with preparations for charity events.
  • Coordinate with the Geneva office and report to the Executive Committee.

Profile

The ideal candidate will resonate with the foundation's mission to support individuals suffering from paraplegia. We are looking for a professional with several years of experience in secretarial tasks, communication, and numerical analysis. Experience in foundation administration is a plus.

Key personal qualities include confidence, initiative, drive, autonomy, and professionalism, all of which have already demonstrated success in previous roles.

Language requirements include:

  • German as a native language with strong writing skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Good knowledge of French.

A Swiss work permit is required for this position.
