The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 6 teacher who can engage and inspire learners through their passion and professional practice. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in Upper Primary/Lower Secondary education, specializing in English and Humanities/Social Studies. This individual will be adaptable and eager to collaborate with a dynamic team of professional educators to plan, deliver, and assess a student-centered curriculum within a diverse international school setting. A teacher at ZIS will maintain high expectations for students, adopt a mentoring mindset, and be adept at differentiating content and instruction across all courses.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of teaching experience in this age range, preferably within an international school context.
• For non-Swiss/EU applicants, extensive international experience is required.
• Learner-centered focus with the ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs.
• A valid teaching license including a specialization; Master’s level study is preferred.
• Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching.
• Experience with interdisciplinary teaching approaches.
• Committed to collaborative planning and teaching practices.
• Proficient in integrating technology into the curriculum.
• Understanding of concept-based curriculum and instruction.
• Use of inquiry-based pedagogical approaches.
