ZIS Bilingual Pathway

In August 2021, ZIS launched a bilingual pathway that complies with the Swiss Lehrplan 21 curriculum. The pathway has expanded to include classes from Early Childhood through Grade 5, with plans to open Grade 6 in August 2026. We aim to extend this pathway up to Grade 9 in the coming years.

The Bilingual Pathway serves as an alternative to our full international pathway. Our German-speaking and bilingual homeroom teachers are integral members of our international teaching team at each grade level.

The Position

We are in search of an experienced, bilingual (C2 German & English) Grade 6 homeroom teacher who is passionate about teaching in both languages. This role offers an exciting challenge within an international environment that values professional collaboration and multilingualism. The position includes:

  • Dedicated planning time
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities, both local and international
  • International networking possibilities
  • Collaboration with specialist subject teachers and a comprehensive team of support staff

Requirements

Applicants must have recent experience teaching in a German-speaking or bilingual homeroom class. Experience with Lehrplan 21 is advantageous but not essential. EDK teaching certification is required; however, ZIS can support the certification process for qualified candidates who have not yet applied. Candidates must provide evidence of the following:

  • Proficiency in German & English (C2 level)
  • Qualified teacher status
  • A learner-centered focus
