Position: Global Operations Controller High Speed (m/f/d)

In this role, you will partner with the Global Head of Operations to prepare sound business decisions by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial, manufacturing, and product cost data. You will assess alternatives and recommend optimal solutions. Additionally, you will oversee the budget and forecasting process for the local manufacturing site, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Business Partner to the Global Head of Operations and the Operations Management Team High Speed.
  • Provide a comprehensive overview of our KPIs, along with recommendations for improvement in operating expenses, utilization, absorption, productivity, hourly rate development, and material cost savings.
  • Assist project managers in business and investment initiatives, evaluate business cases, and provide structured fixed asset data.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to create accurate financial forecasts.
  • Offer a monthly update of the mid-term resource planning.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis and scenarios as needed.
  • Run month-end closings including financial statement reviews and explanations, focusing on booking and accrual of operating expenses (e.g. external staff), analysis and reclassification of expenses, quality costs, fixed assets, and cost-center accounting, in coordination with the accounting service center and human resources.
  • Regularly review and assess balance sheet positions, provisions, and accruals.
  • Plan and run quarterly and annual product cost calculations and deviation analysis for VCE and High Speed.
  • Compare product costs between Switzerland and China post-localization.
  • Ensure the budgeting process aligns with the division’s strategic objectives.
  • Provide input for the three-year plan.
  • Create templates and deliver analysis to assess business performance. Offer forward-looking insights that help Division High Speed manage resource allocation, achieve cost savings, and improve inventory management as well as networking capital.
  • Provide support for initiatives within and beyond operations.
  • Maintain internal controls and manage financial risks in operations.

Your Background:

  • Sound education in accounting and controlling, e.g. commercial apprenticeship and bachelor’s degree in finance and controlling.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting and controlling within an industrial context.
  • Accurate, structured, and results-oriented controller with a focus on internal controls and processes.
  • High level of coordination and communication skills to secure and understand relevant financial information.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in SAP (FI/CO, SD), business application tools, BW, and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, approaching challenges with an open mindset, persistence, and solution orientation.
  • Flexible, independent, and adaptive team player.
  • Fluent in German; proficiency in English is an asset.
