IT Global Network and Distributed Infrastructure Manager - Your Future Role
As the IT Global Network and Distributed Infrastructure Manager at Vernier, you will be responsible for delivering and evolving secure global network and distributed infrastructure services across more than 150 sites worldwide, including our headquarters, manufacturing plants, and branch offices.
In this pivotal role, you will ensure services meet agreed performance levels and organizational needs while inspiring and directing a dynamic team of approximately 50 professionals, including Architects, Product Managers, Solution Engineers, Operations Managers, and Analysts. You will report directly to the Head of Infrastructure, Technologies & Operations.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Service Operations:
- Partner with other IT leaders to enhance and align IT service delivery for global operations and the evolution of services.
- Represent services in relevant governance committees.
- Accountable for operations, ensuring timely resolution, communication, and proper escalation of major outages or security incidents.
- Lead regular service performance and customer service reviews.
- Champion operational excellence by driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Vendor & Contract Management:
- Manage supplier relationships and contracts effectively.
- Build trust with external service providers globally to meet contractual obligations.
- Negotiate extensions and evolutions of service provider contracts.
- Security, Risk Management & Business Continuity:
- Enforce agreed security policies and ensure remediation of audit findings.
- Oversee security processes execution, including patch, vulnerability, and policy lifecycle management.
- Ensure Disaster Recovery plans are documented, tested, and effective.
- Service Strategy:
- Contribute to the definition, assessment, and validation of service strategies.
- People & Stakeholder Management:
- Develop diverse teams across multiple geographies.
- Define team priorities to align with business and operational goals.
- Build strong relationships with IT partners to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
- Budget Management:
- Develop investment plans for infrastructure projects.
- Manage budgets and track financial performance effectively.
You Have:
- A Master’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- Over 10 years of IT infrastructure and network leadership experience within multinational environments.
- A proven track record in managing distributed teams and mission-critical global operations.
- Demonstrated experience with vendor management and large outsourcing contracts.
- Fluency in English.
- Expertise in IT leadership, with experience implementing and managing complex, global technology landscapes.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge across infrastructure, networking, and enterprise applications.
- A history of delivering operational excellence for IT services in fast-paced environments.
- Experience in driving large outsourcing contracts, organizational change, and technology transformation.
- Contract negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Operational service delivery management expertise.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, risk management, and planning expertise.
- Proficiency in IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
