Your New Role

In this dynamic position, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of Global Medical Affairs in Rare Disease. This high-impact role balances strategic thinking with robust execution to promote medical excellence and effective scientific communication across various portfolios and geographies.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Co-lead the integration of a new asset and collaborate in a highly cross-functional model to establish a new therapeutic area within Novo Nordisk.
  • Develop and drive comprehensive Medical Affairs strategies, ensuring alignment between business priorities and operational plans for Rare Blood and Rare Kidney diseases.
  • Execute key medical affairs functions in early pre-launch, including activities related to medical excellence, launch readiness, and medical insights.
  • Translate medical strategic priorities into a cohesive, consistent, and proactive global scientific communications strategy, ensuring clinical data has a significant impact.
  • Enhance our scientific communication efforts, advance digital engagement, and effectively translate complex scientific concepts into improved clinical care through deliberate scientific exchanges.
  • Foster excellence in medical affairs capabilities within global and affiliate medical teams, maintaining state-of-the-art competencies and know-how in medical excellence and scientific communication.

Located in Zurich, Switzerland, the Rare Disease division serves as the global head office for Novo Nordisk's rare disease initiatives. Your Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for an organized, proactive professional with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a data-driven approach to decision-making. You should excel at influencing across varied organizational levels, thrive on innovation, and effectively balance strategic vision with operational execution.

What You Will Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, showcasing expertise in product launches from a Medical Affairs standpoint and strong skills in medical/scientific communication.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in developing and executing a variety of deliverables within scientific communications.
  • Advanced degree required (MSc, MBA, PhD, or MD).
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to operate effectively in a global matrix environment and across diverse cultural and scientific contexts.
  • Excellent project and stakeholder management skills, particularly in complex matrix environments.
