The Global Medical Affairs Director will be an integral part of the Rare Haemato-Renal Disorders Medical Affairs Team, reporting to the Senior Global Medical Director. This role will be based in our Zurich, Switzerland office.

The Position

As the Global Medical Affairs Director, you will play a pivotal role in guiding scientific and educational activities related to rare haematological and renal disorders, with a focus on immunological components.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Developing and providing input to the global medical affairs strategy for pipeline assets addressing rare haematological and renal disorders influenced by the complement system, along with the implementation of tactical projects.
  • Acting as a strategic partner by delivering expert medical leadership to guide development, submission, and launch planning for various assets, providing crucial medical input across product development, regulatory, pharmacoeconomic, marketing, and safety aspects.
  • Leading the development of Integrated Evidence Planning (IEP) and executing relevant projects within evidence generation.
  • Creating educational materials and offering guidance to key affiliates in collaboration with the medical excellence team for scientific dialogue and launch preparation activities.
  • Incorporating external perspectives, especially the patient and healthcare professional (HCP) voice and network, into our organization.
  • Representing the company by engaging with external scientific leaders, study centres, patient advocacy groups, and health authorities as necessary.
  • This is an office-based position, with international travel expected to be approximately 10% per year.

Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about improving patient lives. You should hold a Medical Doctor, PhD, or PharmD with experience in immunology, rare bleeding, or rare renal disorders. In addition, you should possess:

  • More than 5 years of relevant work experience in the clinical/pharmaceutical industry, including global or regional medical affairs expertise.
  • An established network within the complement disorders field.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with external KOLs and societies credibly.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, international teams in a matrix organization.
  • Strategic and tactical thinking regarding innovations to support patient diagnosis and management.
  • Strong project management skills to drive projects to completion within budget and timelines.
  • A proactive attitude that allows for anticipating opportunities and challenges, along with the initiative to address them effectively.
  • Experience in launches and a commercial understanding is an advantage.
