Job Description

This role is critical to the company’s continuous improvement efforts to further develop and maintain an effective HSE Management System across all divisions globally, including turbocharging and fuel injection manufacturing, facility management, and service locations worldwide. A key priority is the development and implementation of clear, practical Group HSE standards and operational procedures that enable management and employees to plan and perform identified High-Risk Activities safely.

Reporting to the Group Head of HSE and working in close alignment with the General Manager of the Service Division (functional interface managed through the Group HSE Head), you will engage with division and country leadership teams to drive alignment, clarify expectations, strengthen accountability for HSE performance, and validate compliance. You will support the development and practical implementation of Group standards by delivering targeted training, building local competence, and strengthening operational ownership. Site monitoring and support visits across regions will also be part of your responsibilities, including conducting validation assessments, audits, and training to ensure consistency and transparency regarding the Group’s HSE Minimum Standards and implementation of initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of Group-level control standards, policies, and guidelines in line with ISO standards.
  • Provide technical and specialist HSE support to all divisions to effectively implement the HSE Management System by developing and overseeing a robust Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) implementation program tailored to divisional requirements.
  • Support safe operations across all locations by designing safe systems of work, delivering training, enabling local legal compliance, and ensuring alignment with the Accelleron Safety Code for controlling High-Risk Activities.
  • Provide timely resolution of HSE Management System challenges, including HSE reporting and data management, while driving continuous improvement as an integral part of daily operations.
  • Support operational management and supervisors in developing risk-based method statements and risk assessments for work activities across all divisions, ensuring proper hazard identification, risk evaluation, implementation of risk reduction measures, and liaison with clients where required.
  • Facilitate the delivery of appropriate HSE and High-Risk Activity training to ensure legal compliance, local ownership, and full alignment with Accelleron Group HSE Standards.
  • Conduct or significantly contribute to incident investigations, ensuring thorough root cause identification and the definition of appropriate SMART corrective actions, while providing training to investigators on applicable investigation methodologies.
  • Advocate and promote safety leadership and coaching in daily operations, including stopping unsafe activities, challenging unsafe behaviours, and recognizing safe behaviours to strengthen the safety culture.
  • Contribute to defining the annual budget for the area of responsibility together with the Group HSE Manager and manage performance within agreed financial targets and constraints.
  • Support and contribute to the development of a competent HSE function by providing training and development opportunities where required.

Your Background

  • Higher National Certificate, Technical Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with practical experience in an engineering environment; and/or a diploma or technical qualification in a mechanical or electrical trade, including completion of a technical engineering apprenticeship (shopfloor and/or design function).
  • Professional HSE qualification equivalent to NEBOSH Diploma or Degree, IOSH Certified Safety Practitioner, or national Health & Safety professional certification.
  • Training and experience as a supervisor or mentor, with exposure to engineering works in manufacturing, service, projects, oil & gas, facility management, or marine industries.
  • Certified Internal ISO Auditor (ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
  • 5–7 years of hands-on technical experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or service operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Approximately 10 years of comprehensive HSE experience in manufacturing or service environments with a global footprint, demonstrating measurable improvements in safety performance.
  • Proven experience implementing High-Risk Activity Minimum Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Strong ability to deliver practical and pragmatic HSE solutions to operational challenges across multiple locations.
  • Experience developing and implementing HSE management system documentation and training materials, including policies, procedures, and control standards.
  • Experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is an advantage).
  • Fluent in English; German is an advantage.
