Job Title: HSE Management System Lead
This role is critical to the company’s continuous improvement efforts in developing and maintaining an effective Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management System across all global divisions, including turbocharging and fuel injection manufacturing, facility management, and service locations worldwide. A key priority is the development and implementation of clear and practical Group HSE standards and operational procedures, enabling management and employees to safely plan and perform identified High-Risk Activities.
Reporting to the Group Head of HSE and closely collaborating with the General Manager of the Service Division, you will engage with division and country leadership teams to drive alignment, clarify expectations, strengthen accountability for HSE performance, and validate compliance. You will support the development and practical implementation of Group standards through targeted training, building local competence, and strengthening operational ownership. Additionally, you will conduct site monitoring and support visits across regions, performing validation assessments, audits, and training to ensure consistency and transparency regarding the Group’s HSE Minimum Standards and implementation of initiatives.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of Group-level control standards, policies, and guidelines in compliance with ISO standards.
- Provide technical and specialist HSE support to all divisions for effective implementation of the HSE Management System through a robust Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) implementation program tailored to divisional needs.
- Support safe operations across all locations by designing safe systems of work, delivering training, and ensuring compliance with the Accelleron Safety Code for controlling High-Risk Activities.
- Address challenges within the HSE Management System including reporting and data management, while promoting continuous improvement.
- Assist operational management and supervisors in developing risk-based method statements and risk assessments, ensuring proper hazard identification and risk reduction measures.
- Facilitate the delivery of appropriate HSE and High-Risk Activity training to ensure legal compliance and alignment with Accelleron Group HSE Standards.
- Contribute to incident investigations, ensuring comprehensive root cause identification and defining appropriate SMART corrective actions, while training investigators on applicable methodologies.
- Promote safety leadership in daily operations, advocating for safe behaviors and challenging unsafe practices to strengthen the safety culture.
- Help define the annual budget for your area of responsibility and manage performance within established financial targets.
- Support the development of a competent HSE function by providing necessary training and development opportunities.
Your Background
- Higher National Certificate, Technical Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with practical experience in an engineering environment; or a diploma/technical qualification in a mechanical or electrical trade with completion of an engineering apprenticeship.
- Professional HSE qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH Certified Safety Practitioner, or equivalent national certification.
- Training and experience as a supervisor or mentor in sectors such as manufacturing, service, projects, oil & gas, or facility management.
- Certified Internal ISO Auditor (ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
- 5–7 years of hands-on technical experience in manufacturing or service operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Approximately 10 years of comprehensive HSE experience in environments with a global footprint, showing measurable improvements in safety performance.
- Proven experience in implementing High-Risk Activity Minimum Standards and relevant codes of practice.
- Strong capability to devise practical HSE solutions across multiple locations.
- Experience in developing and implementing HSE management system documentation and training materials.
- Familiarity with Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred).
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
