Position: Global Clinical Distribution Lead

We are currently looking for an experienced Global Clinical Distribution Lead based in Kaiseraugst, Switzerland, for a one-year contract duration, with a very high chance of extension.

The Global Clinical Distribution Team members possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of clinical trial management, supply chain logistics, and ERP systems. They manage end-to-end distribution activities for a clinical study portfolio of varying complexity. As a member of the Study Management Chapter, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient deployment of clinical inventory throughout a global distribution network consisting of 24 depots worldwide, from the point of technical release through to the importation and delivery of clinical drugs to both depots and clinical sites.

Main Responsibilities

In the role of Global Clinical Distribution Lead, you will undertake various responsibilities according to your experience, knowledge, and the overall requirements of the team:

  • Manage the on-time delivery performance for network supply shipments to meet study requirements and patient demand.
  • Engage effectively in Protocol Execution Teams (PETs), Global Supply Execution Teams (gSETs), and relevant distribution meetings on behalf of PTDS.
  • Drive the resolution of operational and system issues affecting on-time delivery while collaborating with internal and external providers.
  • Execute and coordinate network depot supply in alignment with the Clinical Demand and Supply Leader and other partners as necessary.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional and internal distribution-related projects and process improvement initiatives that support the global distribution strategy.
  • Ensure accurate operations within the CLARA system and perform first and second-level diagnostics.
  • Operate within a GMP-compliant environment, adhering to established quality procedures.
  • Process event records, such as quality incidents along with CAPAs and changes (planned events), as applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU citizenship is required.
  • A BA, BS, MS, or MBA degree in Business (Operations Management or Supply Chain Management), Biotechnology, or a related field; APICS and/or SCOR certification is an advantage.
  • 3-4 years of experience in Clinical Trial Management, logistics, warehouse management, or other supply chain disciplines, preferably within the Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with SAP/ERP systems.
  • Experience working in cross-functional/cross-cultural and agile organizational environments.
  • You are action-oriented and capable of influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit curiosity, active listening skills, and a willingness to experiment with new ideas, focusing on continuous learning and improvement.
  • Possess a collaborative and agile mindset, with a desire to contribute to cross-functional teams and develop a self-directed organizational culture.
  • Ability to solve problems, manage multiple tasks and priorities, and navigate complex situations autonomously.
  • Operational Excellence/Six Sigma/Lean training would be considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required.
