Is there a better place in the world to teach Geography? What many consider once-a-year field trips become your everyday classroom, with glaciers, forests, Alpine meadows, and mountain villages part of your daily landscape.
Living and working in the heart of the Swiss Alps, you’ll have the opportunity to ignite your passion for Geography in students from around the world. Whether encouraging younger pupils to explore climate change and sustainability or assisting a Year 13 IB student in refining their Internal Assessment methodology through a glacier survey, your teaching will seamlessly connect academic learning with real-world experiences. You’ll foster curiosity, enhance understanding, and cultivate skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
This maternity cover role is scheduled from October 2025 to June 2026, offering a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our vibrant school during a key academic period.
As part of our international boarding school, education here transcends traditional lesson timetables; it is a way of life. From morning classes to weekend expeditions, you’ll engage in ideas, challenges, and adventures with pupils within a community that values holistic learning, meaningful relationships, and outdoor exploration, alongside academic success.
Joining our collaborative Humanities department, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking team where creativity and curiosity are actively encouraged. Your role may also include teaching our Integrated Humanities course for Years 7 to 11, and experience or interest in IB Environmental Systems and Societies would be advantageous.
You are a qualified teacher, fluent in English, with familiarity in the IBDP and experience working with diverse student backgrounds. An excellent communicator, you are adept with digital tools and committed to building strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families alike.
Well-organized, enthusiastic, and adaptable, you possess a good sense of humor and are ready to immerse yourself fully in school life. Whether leading a parent–teacher meeting, scaling a 4,000m peak, or cheering students on at a night-time ski race, you embrace every moment as part of the learning journey and are eager to make it count.
