The Institute of Molecular Systems Biology at ETH Zurich is inviting applications for a Full Stack Web Developer for Life Science Research in the laboratory of Prof. Pedro Beltrao.
The Beltrao group is dedicated to studying the mechanisms underlying genotype to phenotype relationships. We aim to understand how genetic variations introduced at the level of DNA can affect protein function, impacting cellular processes, ultimately leading to human disease. With a strong track record in fundamental research utilizing computational methods and increasingly, Artificial Intelligence approaches, we are now focused on making these innovations accessible to the scientific community and beyond.
Our goal is to bridge the gap between academic code and real-world application. This project seeks to develop robust web resources capable of sharing large-scale datasets and AI-driven predictions with a wider audience. As we transition our work towards more translational applications, we are searching for a developer who can assist us in transforming research prototypes into user-friendly products with potential commercial viability.
You are an experienced programmer, well-versed in both front-end and back-end development, with a strong interest in product development and bioinformatics. We welcome applicants with significant experience in full-stack web development or those with a solid background in bioinformatics who are eager to engage in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
Your pivotal role will involve "productionizing" our computational research. Your primary responsibilities will include:
