The Institute of Molecular Systems Biology at ETH Zurich is inviting applications for a Full Stack Web Developer for Life Science Research in the laboratory of Prof. Pedro Beltrao.
The Beltrao group is dedicated to studying the mechanisms underlying genotype to phenotype relationships. We are keen on understanding how genetic variation at the DNA level can cause changes in protein function, how these changes impact cellular processes, and ultimately give rise to human diseases. While we have an established track record in fundamental research employing computational methods and increasingly artificial intelligence approaches, we are now focused on making these innovations broadly available to the scientific community and beyond.
Our aim is to bridge the gap between academic code and real-world applications. This project seeks to develop robust web resources that share large-scale datasets and AI-driven predictions with a wider audience. As we advance our work toward more translational applications, we are searching for a developer who can help us transform research prototypes into user-friendly products with potential commercial viability.
You are an experienced computer programmer familiar with both front-end and back-end development, with a keen interest in product development and bioinformatics. We welcome applicants with substantial experience in full-stack web development or a strong background in bioinformatics who are eager to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
You will play a pivotal role in "productionizing" our computational research. Your primary responsibilities will include:
