Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic French teacher to work with academically motivated high school sophomores (ages 15-16) from diverse educational backgrounds across the United States. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a love for the French language.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach French I through Advanced Placement French in small class sizes (2-6 students).
- Deliver engaging lessons across four classes.
- Regularly assess students’ progress through assignments, tests, and exams.
- Maintain correspondence with the students' home schools in the United States, primarily via email.
- Utilize the curriculum provided by each student’s home school.
Requirements
- Native or C2 level proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Bachelor of Arts degree in French teaching; Master’s or PhD degrees are preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong teaching experience across various levels of secondary school French.
- Familiarity with the US curriculum is advantageous.
- Advisory responsibility for 4-5 students.
- Experience in outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, biking, and skiing is a plus, but not required.
