Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated French teacher to instruct academically talented high school sophomores (ages 15-16) from various schools across the United States. This is a unique opportunity to engage with a small class size, fostering a personalized and immersive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach French from Level I to Advanced Placement, accommodating a class size of 2-6 students.
- Conduct four classes, adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.
- Regularly assess students through various assignments, tests, and exams to evaluate their progress.
- Engage in correspondence (primarily via email) with sending schools in the United States.
- Utilize the curriculum provided by the students' home schools to tailor learning experiences.
Requirements
- Proficient in English writing and speaking, with a native or C2 level proficiency.
- Bachelor of Arts in French Education.
- Master's or PhD degrees in relevant fields are preferred but not mandatory.
- A strong teaching background in French at various levels of secondary education.
- Familiarity with the US curriculum is advantageous.
- Experience advising 4-5 students is beneficial.
- Outdoor experience in activities such as hiking, climbing, biking, and skiing is preferred but not required.
