Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated French teacher to guide exceptionally motivated and academically talented high school sophomores (ages 15-16) from various schools across the United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French from the introductory level through to Advanced Placement.
Responsibilities
- Instruct French I through Advanced Placement, accommodating class sizes of 2-6 students.
- Teach four classes, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the curriculum.
- Assess student progress regularly through assignments, tests, and exams.
- Maintain communication (typically via email) with students' sending schools in the U.S.
- Utilize curricula provided by the students’ home schools.
Requirements
- Fluent English writing and speaking skills (Native or C2 level).
- Bachelor of Arts in French teaching.
- Master's or PhD degrees are preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong teaching background with experience at different levels of secondary school French.
- Familiarity with the U.S. education curriculum is advantageous.
- Advisory responsibility for a small group of 4-5 students.
- Experience in outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, biking, and skiing is preferred but not essential.
