Position: Flight Data Engineer

As a Flight Data Engineer at ANAVIA, you will be responsible for the design, integration, and testing of unmanned helicopter systems. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure our systems are reliable, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Data Collection and Management: Oversee the collection, organization, and storage of data generated during UAV operations, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze flight data to assess UAV performance, identify trends, and uncover insights that inform design improvements and operational strategies.
  • Reporting: Develop and produce comprehensive reports and visualizations that effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams—including flight control, test bench, and design engineers—to provide data-driven insights that guide product development and enhancements.
  • Tool Development: Create and maintain analytical tools and scripts to automate data processing and analysis tasks, improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Validation and Testing: Support flight testing by analyzing data to validate performance metrics and identify potential issues or areas for optimization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in data analysis techniques, incorporating best practices into workflows.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of significant experience with the analysis of large datasets, preferably in the aviation or space industry; familiarity with software tools for data processing and the fundamentals of flight dynamics.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of data science tools (Python, Jupyter, etc.), experience with embedded systems and their communication (CAN, UART, etc.), and a fundamental understanding of flight dynamics.
  • Communication: Very good technical communication skills.
