Key Responsibilities

  • Flight Control Software: Design, develop, implement, and test model-based flight control software to enable new aircraft capabilities and enhance system performance.
  • Simulation & Validation: Verify and validate newly implemented features using a comprehensive simulation framework to ensure reliability, safety, and performance.
  • Documentation: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and training materials that describe flight control logic, software architecture, and system behavior.
  • Autonomy: Design and implement safe, reliable autonomous flight sequences that meet customer requirements and comply with the latest aviation safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems, avionics, flight operations, and design engineers, to develop innovative features and continuously improve our unmanned helicopter platforms.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry developments, emerging technologies, and evolving safety regulations, incorporating best practices into software development processes.

Your Profile

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience with model-based development, preferably in the aviation or aerospace industry. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and best practices is required.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming in C or a similar language is an advantage.
  • Testing Experience: Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Strong expertise in model-based development using Simulink or similar tools, solid understanding of flight dynamics, and the ability to design and execute comprehensive test programs from unit testing to system-level validation. Excellent technical communication and documentation skills are essential.
  • Languages: Professional proficiency in English is required; German is desirable.

  • Work independently and communicate complex technical matters clearly and concisely to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Adhere to ANAVIA’s employment contract, comply with company safety instructions, and observe employee safety requirements, as well as following ANAVIA’s quality manual, work instructions, and corresponding process specifications.
  • International travel may be required, amounting to up to 25% of working hours.
