Role Overview

As a Flight Control Software Engineer at ANAVIA, you will be responsible for the design, integration, and testing of flight control software for our unmanned helicopter systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our systems are reliable, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Flight Control Software: Design, implement, and test model-based software that enables new flight functionality.
  • Simulation: Thoroughly test newly implemented features within a comprehensive simulation framework.
  • Documentation: Assist in creating documentation and training materials that outline the flight control logic.
  • Autonomy: Design safe and reliable autonomous flight sequences that meet customer needs while adhering to the latest safety regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, including design engineers, flight operations, and avionics engineers, to provide new features and enhancements that realize our customers’ vision.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in safety regulations and sensor technology, incorporating best practices into workflows.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Significant experience with model-based programming, preferably in the aviation or space industry; familiarity with associated standards and best practices; experience with programming in C or similar is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of model-based programming (e.g., Simulink or similar); good understanding of flight dynamics; capability to design comprehensive test programs from unit to system level.
  • Communication: Excellent technical communication skills.
