Position Purpose

Carlo Gavazzi is a recognized global leader specializing in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of products and networked solutions for the Industrial Automation and Building Automation industries. This encompasses multiple technologies for connected Sensors, Relays, and Electrical Metering. Our company is listed on the SIX stock exchange and operates worldwide, with our headquarters located in Steinhausen, Zug.

This position reports directly to the Group CFO and is based in Steinhausen, Zug.

As the Financial Tools and Projects Lead, you will function as a business partner and advisor to the CFO. Your primary focus will be on enhancing efficiency and automating financial processes. You will spearhead the implementation of new financial tools and introduce or update policies, procedures, manuals, and checklists. Furthermore, you will serve as the global key user for IFS, leading the finance subproject for the upgrade to IFS Cloud. This role demands extensive knowledge of IFS (ERP), project management expertise, and a drive for financial innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough reviews of current financial processes, identifying opportunities for automation and system enhancements.
  • Maintain and propose further developments of business reporting tools and analytical models to provide management with greater insights into profit and cost control.
  • Evaluate and lead the implementation of new financial tools.
  • Act as a global key user for IFS (ERP) and support the finance team.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to IFS, enhancing system functionality and user experience.
  • Manage and optimize the interface between Tagetik and IFS.
  • Lead the finance subproject for the upgrade to IFS Cloud in collaboration with IT and other departments.
  • Provide support for the implementation of future finance organizational structures to ensure smooth transitions and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new policies, procedures, and the Accounting Manual.
  • Manage the documentation of all financial procedures and policies.
  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive manuals and checklists.
  • Introduce and maintain finance reporting rules for designing comprehensible reports, presentations, and dashboards.
  • Act as a backup for the Sales Margin & Factory Controller.
  • Finance School Responsible: Develop and manage a finance training program for employees, ensuring staff are well-trained in financial processes and tools.
  • Manage the finance SharePoint site and organize finance file storage.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in a European manufacturing industry, with multi-plant manufacturing being an advantage.
  • Extensive practical knowledge of IFS (ERP); experience with IFS Cloud is an asset.
  • Familiarity with financial software (e.g., Tagetik, Power BI) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven track record in financial automation and system integration.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Good working knowledge of operational accounting; experienced in core financial matters.
  • Experience in change management and leading international projects, demonstrating strong ‘hands-on’ execution skills.
  • International business experience is a plus.
  • Practical experience implementing IBCS Standards (International Business Communication Standards) is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English; German at business level; additional languages, especially Italian, are a great asset.
  • Working experience in Switzerland is required.
