Engineer Failure Analysis Position

The Engineer Failure Analysis position in Lenzburg presents an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team dedicated to semiconductor failure analysis. This role involves conducting complex analyses to understand failure mechanisms in semiconductors, supporting Research & Development and Product Engineering teams, and enhancing analysis techniques within the laboratory. A solid understanding of analytical methods and the operation of specialized equipment is essential for success in this position.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Analyze failed devices from internal tests to enhance yield and reliability.
• Conduct in-depth investigations of customer returns using REM/EDX, profilometers, electrical measurement techniques, spreading resistance profiling (SRP), and more.
• Support troubleshooting and improvement initiatives within production and R&D.
• Enhance electrical and physical analysis techniques, as well as chemical preparation processes.

Your Background

• Master’s degree in natural sciences (TU, FH, ETH, or similar).
• Preferred candidates will have more than three years of lab experience; however, we also welcome applications from highly motivated graduates who have completed their PhD thesis.
• Knowledge of standard failure analysis methodologies, including SEM/EDX, optical microscopy, hot-spot analysis, electrical characterization, SAM, and spreading resistance profiling.
• Desirable experience in the failure analysis of semiconductor chips and components (including packaging and materials).
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
