Job Description
The expert will work under the supervision of the UNOG/SHP Senior Project Manager to develop handover and commissioning strategies, while also monitoring the execution of the associated steps in the process. The commissioning expert will collaborate with Contractors, SHP teams, and future end users (ICTS, SSS, and FMS) to ensure that the relevant points of contact for each discipline are actively involved in the commissioning and handover phases. This includes tasks ranging from the review of the commissioning plan to the finalization of substantial completion documentation and transfer to end users, followed by monitoring the resolution of punch list items.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of handover and commissioning strategies.
- Liaise with the existing facilities management group.
- Integrate the commissioning plan into construction documents and provide follow-up throughout construction and handover.
- Organize relevant training for operators.
- Assist in reviewing design and construction submittals to assess compliance with project objectives, building codes, and quality standards.
- Prepare support materials for meetings with internal clients and stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings to determine SHP requirements and review construction inputs from end-users.
- Conduct periodic site quality assurance inspections and prepare observation reports during the handover period.
- Monitor handover and commissioning activities in line with contractual specification requirements.
- Review closeout documentation, including Operation & Maintenance as-built drawings.
- Prepare monthly reports and forecasts regarding handover activities.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the SHP Senior Project Manager to achieve SHP objectives.
