Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated leader to join our team and support our mission of advancing care for individuals living with rare renal conditions.

As the Executive Director for Rare Renal, you will spearhead the overall brand strategy for our rare renal portfolio across key international markets. Your role will involve shaping the long-term vision, guiding strategic planning, and overseeing the development and execution of integrated strategies to ensure successful product launches and sustainable growth.

This position focuses on major markets, including Germany, Japan, and China, as well as three broader regions. You will drive the commercialization of both current and future rare renal assets, encompassing lifecycle management initiatives.

The Executive Director reports to the Renal International Disease Area Head and collaborates closely with cross-functional partners in Development, Medical Affairs, Value & Access, and Customer & Market Activation to guarantee aligned and effective strategy implementation. You will also serve as a key commercial representative in various internal forums.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • International Launch Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of the launch plan for assigned products, ensuring alignment with asset strategy and corporate objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Orchestrate a global cross-functional team (Medical, Regulatory, Access, Commercial, Supply, etc.) to facilitate seamless launch execution.
  • Launch Readiness: Assess and drive readiness across core and priority markets, identifying risks and enabling mitigation plans for timely launch execution.
  • Insight Integration: Utilize market research, competitive intelligence, and stakeholder feedback to refine positioning, messaging, and tactical planning.
  • International - Local Partnership: Collaborate closely with regional and country teams to ensure effective implementation of international strategies, providing guidance and tools for in-market success.
  • Milestone Tracking & Governance: Define and track critical launch milestones and KPIs; lead governance updates and ensure timely decision-making across key forums.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate the Rare Renal vision and strategic goals to senior leaders, including the International Leadership Team (ILT), Country Presidents (CP), and regional heads.
  • Compliance & Excellence: Maintain the highest standards of compliance and launch excellence throughout all activities.
  • Collaboration with Global Development: Partner with global development to create the Target Product Profile & Integrated Evidence Plan to maximize commercialization and patient access potential for rare renal indications in key international markets.
  • Financial Accountability: Oversee the overall commercial budget and ensure alignment with cross-functional teams.

Essential Requirements:

  • At least 15 years of commercial experience across various functions, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of the commercial landscape.
  • A proven track record of successful product launches, showcasing leadership in both commercial and therapeutic areas.
  • Experience with high-performing and high-growth brands or markets, possessing a clear understanding of the key drivers that influence customer and patient behaviors.
  • Ability to translate scientific data into differentiated brand value propositions to support impactful launches from pre-launch to lifecycle management.
  • A strong history of collaborating and partnering with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic and performance targets.
  • Recent, significant Profit and Loss (P&L) leadership experience at the country level.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Commercial experience in the renal disease area.
  • Launch experience in the Top 11 International Countries.
