Join Our Team as the Executive Director, Rare Renal
We are searching for an experienced and passionate leader to help us realize our ambitious mission of becoming a leader in the field of rare renal conditions.
As the Executive Director of Rare Renal, you will be instrumental in shaping the end-to-end brand strategy. This includes the vision, development, orchestration, implementation, and evaluation of integrated rare renal strategies across major international markets.
In this enterprise leadership role, you will concentrate on the top three countries—Germany, Japan, and China—alongside three regions. Your focus will be on driving the successful launch and growth of brands with rare renal indications, as well as other new assets in the renal portfolio, including Lifecycle Management (LCM) initiatives.
This position reports directly to the Disease Area Head of Renal International. You will work closely with key teams such as Development, International Medical Affairs, Value & Access, and Customer & Market Activation, ensuring consistent strategy development and execution. You will represent the commercial team across various organizational instances.
Key Responsibilities
- International Launch Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of the launch plan for assigned products and indications, ensuring alignment with overall asset strategy and corporate objectives.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Orchestrate a global, cross-functional team (Medical, Regulatory, Access, Commercial, Supply, etc.) to ensure seamless launch execution.
- Launch Readiness: Assess and drive readiness across core and priority markets, identifying risks and enabling mitigation plans for timely launch execution.
- Insight Integration: Utilize market research, competitive intelligence, and stakeholder feedback to refine positioning, messaging, and tactical planning.
- International-Local Partnership: Collaborate with regional and country teams to ensure the effective implementation of international strategies, providing necessary guidance and tools for in-market success.
- Milestone Tracking & Governance: Define and track critical launch milestones and KPIs; lead governance updates to ensure timely decision-making across key forums.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate the Rare Renal vision and strategic goals effectively to senior leaders, including the International Leadership Team (ILT), Country Presidents (CP), and regional heads.
- Compliance & Excellence: Uphold the highest standards of compliance and launch excellence throughout all activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with global development to develop the Target Product Profile and Integrated Evidence Plan, maximizing commercialization and patient access potential for rare renal portfolio indications and LCM in key international markets.
- Accountability: Oversee the overall commercial budget and ensure alignment with cross-functional teams.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of commercial experience across various functions at both country and regional levels, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of the commercial landscape.
- Proven track record of successful launches, demonstrating commercial leadership and therapeutic area expertise in key markets.
- Experience with high-performing, high-growth brands or markets, with a strong understanding of the key drivers influencing customer and patient behaviors for successful asset launches.
- Ability to translate scientific data into differentiated brand value propositions, facilitating impactful launches from pre-launch through lifecycle management (LCM).
- A history of effective collaboration and partnerships across units, functions, and key markets to achieve strategic and performance objectives.
Desirable Requirements
- Commercial experience in the renal disease area.
- Launch experience in the top 11 international countries.
