Join Our Team as Events Director
Do you thrive on creating high-quality live, hybrid, and digital events that deliver clear messages and advance Zurich’s brand and agenda?
At Zurich, we connect leaders, colleagues, customers, and partners through impactful in-person, hybrid, and digital experiences. Our events range from leadership meetings and customer conferences to summits, thought leadership events, public policy forums, and internal broadcasts.
We’re raising the bar by enhancing audience experience, strengthening production quality, and bringing fresh ideas to the design and delivery of events and 360 global campaigns. To support this effort, we’re looking for an Events Director with a strong track record in modern event production across live, hybrid, and digital formats.
What You Will Do
- Act as the day-to-day lead for Group Events, guiding delivery across formats and coaching the team with clear direction while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, leaders, and partners.
- Own end-to-end planning and execution for internal and external events, shaping concepts and content with stakeholders, building run-of-show plans, and serving as the main point of contact.
- Enhance audience experience and production quality by bringing fresh ideas in format, flow, creative digital storytelling, and embedding sustainable event practices.
- Lead delivery from brief to post-event evaluation, coordinating cross-functional teams and agencies for larger productions.
- Manage partners, budgets, timelines, and the events calendar; brief and steer external suppliers and production partners to achieve high-quality results within budget.
- Lead and deliver complex events across live, hybrid, and virtual formats, including livestreams/webcasts: managing attendee journeys, speaker support, venues, suppliers, contracts, and on-site/show calling.
- Maintain alignment with stakeholders through crisp project communication and documentation across internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Report on event status and outcomes; capture learnings and continuously improve formats, processes, and audience feedback loops.
- Manage the event technology and tools used to deliver our events (e.g., Cvent and our Global ME database) and collaborate with colleagues and vendors on registration, event apps, streaming, and production workflows.
What You Bring
- A minimum of 8+ years’ experience delivering high-profile, high-impact signature corporate events, with confidence across live, hybrid, and digital formats, both large and small.
- Strong program/project management skills, including budget oversight, vendor management, and stakeholder steering within agile frameworks.
- Experience managing a team of seasoned event professionals.
- Hands-on expertise with event technologies, particularly Cvent and enterprise event databases; quick to learn new tools.
- A proven track record of delivering complex virtual and hybrid events, with a focus on audience experience and production quality, as well as the ability to anticipate risks and solve problems ad hoc.
- Comfortable partnering with senior executives and diverse stakeholders in a dynamic international setting.
- Excellent communication skills in English (and German), allowing you to brief, advise, and present clearly to speakers, senior stakeholders, and production partners.
- A strong network of event, AV/broadcast, and multimedia production partners and suppliers, bringing best practice experience for state-of-the-art creative productions including sustainable practices.
- Strong skills in Microsoft 365 (especially Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
