European Gas Trader
Role Overview
As an integral part of the European Gas and Power business, the Gas Trader will implement proprietary trading strategies within the North West European gas markets. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the European gas landscape, coupled with a proven track record in speculative gas trading.
What You Will Do
The European Gas Trader will collaborate with a team of traders and analysts to expand the portfolio beyond current capabilities in North West Europe.
- Take ownership of the portfolio for European gas proprietary positions in the European gas markets, including cross-commodity elements that incorporate gas-to-coal trading.
- Develop new customer relationships and identify market challenges to address, in alignment with Koch’s Guiding Principles of mutual benefit.
- Communicate effectively with the broader commercial team to maintain and enhance desk trading strategy and points of view (POV).
- Drive the creation of new gas analytics and contribute to future strategy development.
- Conduct and support fundamental research on the European energy markets for Koch.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Several years of experience trading in North West European gas markets, showcasing a proven record of value creation.
- Solid understanding of gas market balancing dynamics and European gas market infrastructure.
- Knowledgeable in technical trading strategies.
- Able to build a diversified strategic approach to risk deployment.
- Strong analytical capabilities and effective problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in European gas market fundamental analysis.
- A high level of intellectual curiosity.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently.
- Entrepreneurial by nature.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
