Your Mission

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive ESG strategy that aligns with our goals and supports Formula 1’s commitment to achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2030. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading environmental initiatives such as carbon footprint reduction, sustainable fuel integration, and renewable energy adoption.
  • Delivering cost cap efficiencies through close collaboration with the finance department.
  • Driving social responsibility programs that emphasize diversity, inclusion, community engagement, and employee well-being in alignment with HR objectives.
  • Establishing governance frameworks to ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with internal departments (race operations, logistics, marketing) as well as external stakeholders (FIA, race promoters, suppliers, and sponsors), including Audi AG.
  • Overseeing ESG reporting and compliance, including sustainability disclosures and impact assessments.
  • Monitoring emerging ESG trends, opportunities, and risks while adapting strategies accordingly.
  • Representing the team in ESG forums and partnerships across the motorsport industry.
  • Developing and integrating the ESG strategy and roadmap.
  • Implementing Social Impact, Inclusion, and Employee Wellbeing standards.
  • Monitoring Governance Frameworks, Risk, and Compliance Assessments.
  • Undertaking any other related activities as required from time to time.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, sustainability, business & economics, social science, or related fields.
  • A proven track record in comparable ESG leadership roles, preferably within sports, motorsports, or the automotive industry.
  • A strong understanding of sustainability frameworks (e.g. ISO 14001, GRI, SDGs).
  • Experience with data analytics and ESG reporting tools.
  • Project management skills to effectively drive cross-functional projects.
  • Experience in executing social responsibility programs focused on diversity, inclusion, and community engagement is advantageous.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and work with teams across multiple locations.
  • A performance-oriented mindset complemented by a strong leadership personality.
  • Fluency in both English and German languages.
